black + white: a moody day

I don’t often go for drives on my own; but today I had to get out of the house owing to the fact that I’ve spent all week inside working on photography stuff.  Of course, what do I do then?  I get out of the house and take more pictures for myself to edit.  Oh well.

Fall is in the air.  I can practically smell the pumpkin spice lattes brewing.  I even wore a scarf today.  Oh, the anticipation!

day 163: just some crazy birds.

It’s no secret that I’m no nature photographer. I haven’t the patience or the stealth to properly capture any wild animal in a photograph. But today I was stuck in bed for most of the day, being nice and sickly. It was a beautiful sunny day, and the first warm (ish) one for a while. All I heard, consequently, was birds chirping like crazy outside my window. As soon as I was feeling a little better later in the day, I went outside for some fresh air with my camera to try and catch some birds. Let me tell you though, aside from the fact that I’m clumsy and can’t sneak up on a thing normally…when I have a loud bronchial cough, it makes it even more awkward. But I managed to get a few shots:

day 131: sunrise? sunset?

I had a completely different idea for my blog post today, but I decided that the idea was a little bit underdeveloped. I really want to post my original idea eventually, but I’ll have to wait till it’s more formulated in my mind.
So, with that said…my blog today is just a quickie. This was the sunrise over Mt. Baker this morning. About a minute before the picture was taken it was a lot clearer that this was a sunrise over a Mountain…but in the time it took to get my camera and switch to the right lens it had moved significantly. Oh well…still looks pretty.

Yay for clear skies!!

day 113: branching out.

I just love bare tree branches. I can’t help marvelling at how intricately lovely they are.
